Augh, I hate Gamestop now. I gave them two of my GBA games -- T.H.U.G. and Golden Sun, and I only got $17.00 store credit for both of them combined. Now, what really makes me mad is that the little used Golden Sun carts in the case are selling for $17!

I can't believe how low they buy them from you for ($6 for Golden Sun!) and then they sell them for double, sometimes triple the amount they bought it from you for.

Screw you, Gamestop.

Hey has anyone ever been offered money instead of credit at Gamestop. It happened to me once and I almost choked.

Anyway, yeah of course they're not gonna give you what the games are worth. They have to make money somehow.

If you really want something to get upset about with regard to Gamestop/EB, then how about their practice of letting employees take home games to borrow? All of those games that are gutted and have their boxes on display, the actual units are up for grabs by employees at night. They're officially used products, but you'll be paying full if you ever get stuck with the last copy.

Yeah, I have. They won't go bankrupt if they lighten up and give people a little more for their games.

Wow, heh... That's interesting. I should type up a letter or something about that.

Do they really do that, Dan? That seems incredibly...unprofessional/wrong. How d'you know this? Did you have a friend that worked there or something? (curious, not saying you're lying or anything.)

I've seen dozens of reports in other forums from employees saying that's how it works. I also once bought a last copy of a GBA game and there was a save slot being used.

I've gotten a few Gamecube and Gameboy Advance games that were the last copy. Luckily I've never had problems with them, no save slots used or scratches on disks. That doesn't surprise me at all though.

Should there be the nintendo wrapping on them (GBA games).

I've only ever had one GBA game that came with the wrapping, and that was SMA4.

Nintendo wrapping? You mean shrinkwrap? I already said that EB and Gamestop gut at least one copy of every game in order to have an empty box on the shelf, so obviously it's no longer shrinkwrapped.

6 bucks? sounds like you got lucky. I remember asking them about Jet Set Radio Future....a grand total of !!!! ...... 65 cents! and Neverwinter nights for about 4 dollars..

I think it is great that they take them though. Atleast it is some credit for a game that you no longer like or want to play.

Gaming stores will pay next to nothing for used games as if they didn't make a large profit it wouldn't be worth doing so. The smaller stores usually pay more, but what usually brings in the most money is selling your old games on eBay, or at least it used to be until the pirates plagued the market.

Wow... $0.65? That sucks...

Whoever buys my Golden Sun cart will have a nice suprise waiting for them -- I didn't delete my saved games, and one of them has the game 100% completed on it.

I know someone who works at EB. Yes, you can take games home. You're supposed to clear the saves though. It's mainly so they can play games and be able to reccomend them to customers, as they can only keep them for something like 3 days.

Most stores allow there employees to take the games home. It allows them to test out the games so they can answer some of the moronic questions cutomers come up with. Similarly most stores have shrink-wrap machines, enabling them to replace the packaging. Just because it's in its shrink-wrap doesn't mean it hasn't beend.
