Well, this forum is pretty empty, I guess I'll get the ball rolling.

Just yesterday, Final Fantasy VII was voted "Best Game Evar". Runner up was Chronotrigger.

So, do you agree? Do you even care?

Personally, I was rooting for Starcraft to win.

What were the other choices. I would choose FFVII over Starcraft and Chrotrigger though.

Today they had a poll asking if FFVII is *really* the best game. I voted it's in the top 10, but it's not the best.

It's what you might expect from a site full of Square (note: not Enix) fanboys.

Final Fantasy VII is in no way the best game ever. I'm not even sure I'd call it a game...

I'm still trying to figure out Jskie's hatred towards Final Fantasy. Really, I don't see what's wrong with them.

Some people just don't like the FF series...I can't say I'm exactly fond of it, and I agree with Jskie in that an FF game should not have won best game ever, but like he says, there are a LOT of FF fanboys on Gamefaqs.

God. It was a immediate giveaway that FFVII would win. Although I was hoping a Nintendo franchise would win.

But Chrono Trigger...ehhhh...not runner up. But up there.

If GameFAQs was in Korean, StarCraft would have won...it was a major contributor to reviving the Korean economy. heh

Actually, I wouldn't say I hated FFVII at all. True, I got bored of it half way through, but it was okayish for the most part. It was, however, entirely story-driven. Had it not had an engaging plot, there would have been no point in playing any of it at all.

Well, up until the final few bouts, every game except for a couple were Nintendo games. It's really interesting, just seeing how many games there were for the NES, SNES, N64 and GC.

Here's the final bracked if anyone is wondering.

FF3 was so great... (my opinion)... but i think it should have won... i thought it was superior in everyway to VII, except graphically... and even then FFVII wasn't exactly a beautiful game... considering that cloud's hands were thicker than his head and looked like horse hooves... oh well....

Well, going into the final 16, 4 were Zeldas. 4 were also FFs. My choice would have been for LoZ (NES) but I knew that OoT had the best chance. And it was beaten out.

I don't know what people see in RPGs nowadays. They're all the same, especially the Final Fantasy series. Like this flash says, they'll be making them till the end of time.

I really don't get what all the hype is about the Final Fantasy series. I guess I just don't like RPGs that much... -_-

Samurai - you can read Japanese? That's the only way you would have been able to play FF3.

RPG's are not to bad for awhile, but can get annoying. I enjoyed FF6, FF7, FF8 and FF9, but I like the Zelda's much more. I like having control over combat. My all time favortite game is Age of Empires 2, but between all the Zeldas and FF, I like OoT the best.

Eh, by your reasoning you should be putting OoT over Age of Empires 2. Why? Because you don't have "control over the combat" in Age of Empires 2. It really irks me when people try and compare Final Fantasy to Zelda. Entirely different games, get over it. Zelda features this supposed "control over combat" and Final Fantasy features, you know, a plot. And characters that make more than incoherent grunts.

I'm not placing one over the other. I loved both OoT and A Link to the Past, and I love most of the Final Fantasy series. I just don't see the point in comparing two completly different series. Unless you're about to start trying to compare Monkey Ball with Tetris...

I realise this, but FFVI was only called FF3 because America, at the time, had never seen the NES Final Fantasies. Now two of those three are available in America, so it seems a little silly to call FFVI FFIII now, dosen't it? :P

So? :P That's what it says on the box. And the title screen, for that matter.

I'm just looking forward to the release of the "Real" Final Fantasy III. That's going to confuse a lot of Americans ;)
