What do you guys think of the recently released Classic NES Series? Will you be buying any of the games? Is 20 bucks way too much for one NES game? Also, feel free to discuss the new Classic NES system if you feel like it (which I will hopefully be picking up soon).

Really, I'm a bit reluctant to fork over 20 bucks for one game. I might buy one or two at their current prices. Cut the price in half and I might consider buying into the whole thing. Maybe it's just me.

As for the SP, the more I look at it the more I don't like it.

I bought LoZ. It was 15 bucks and I got a free Super Mario. Bros vintage T-Shirt. I'd say that's a pretty good deal. Anyway, it's bare bones. Nothing new tacked on, just a straight up port of the original, complete with slowdown!

And for anyone else who bought Zelda, do me a favor and go to page 19 in the booklet. Tell me what you see.

I was thinking about doing that too... You got Legend of Zelda for $15 with the shirt at Circuit City right?

Sigh. Circuit City. Wasn't supposed to go on sale there 'til Wednesday (according to the Sunday ad). So I call on Monday to double check and, guess what, sold out of SMB and LoZ.

Haha, yup, ad said Wednesday. I have one right here. But insider infoz and high demand led us to release them early (we had the games selling on Thursday and giving out the shirts on monday). Bummer you missed out, but hey, there's still Excite Bike... :P

Has anyone bought Zelda... c'mon... I know someone has.

I would like Excitebike, but for 20 bucks I hesitate. It would have been better to make one complation cart instead of individual carts.

It's 20 bucks I'd be better off investing in a newer game.

Wait...complete with slowdown. One more reason not to pay 20 bucks for one.

Here's lots of NES shirts and other stuff.

Anyway, if I do get one of the classic NES games it will most definately be LoZ.

I wouldn't pay 20 bucks but thats just me.... you know me... I am special :). But nintendo isn't forcing anybody to buy it, it is just for people who would either like to experience those games again on the GBA or for those who never gotten to try those old school games.

Out of the whole Classic Series, the only games I would actually be interested in would be Zelda and Mario; however, at $29 CDN (I believe), there is absolutely no way I will be picking any of them up. As far as I see it, selling decade old games at almost new prices constitutes as first degree rape. I could see myself perhaps buying them at that price if, like someone already suggested, they came on a few "compilation" carts; otherwise it's just ridiculous.

As for the Classic NES SP, I think it looks pretty cool, and I would really like an SP just because it's quite a bit more portable than the original GBA. I'm also currently desiring an X-Box though, and unfortunately with my limited funds, I think I'm going to go with the box. Looks like the only way I'll be getting an SP is if I win the contest I entered earlier this week... *crosses fingers* :D

It's a special shirt...kind of similar to the "Super Mario Bros. Plumbing" one on that site, but I think it looks a bit cooler than that one.

I don't understand why Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda are the two titles you guys want most. Did you not buy Super Mario Bros DX and not get the Zelda bonus disc for the GC?

If I were to pick any up it'd be Excitebike and Ice Climber, especially since the former apparently has save slots for custom tracks.

Well, uh considering that the Zelda bonus disk came with the Gamecube, no I didn't get it. The only other way I know of to get the disk is to buy a used copy. You must know something I don't.

I really wish I could find a copy of Super Mario Bros. DX. Hahha, I missed out on the NES and I want to play some classic mario!!!

And I've got the Zelda Collector's disc so I doubt I'd ever buy the portable version.

If I were to get a classic game, it would definately by excitebike. Now THAT is a classic :D

Slowdown was part of LoZ, why take it out? Anyway I think I'll go get LoZ today if they have any more shirts. I need a game or two for vacation, and the battery in my NES cart won't last forever.
