Well, I had NZ$30 (about US$18 or something) to get rid of so I went on the NZ equivalent of eBay, and look what I found:

(IMG:http:///photoserver/58/4000258_full.jpg)

A good old Atari Lynx! I have never had an Atari before, so I bought this and it is currently on the way here with the game Klax included. So, what has been your experience with the Atari Lynx - good or bad - and are there any particular games I should get for it? I know that it wasn't a very popular system and only about 100 games were relased for it, but there were apparently some good ones like Ninja Gaiden 1 and 3.

I've never heard of the Atari Lynx, Atari did sure do a good as hell job on the exterior look of it though. (for back then you know.)

Like I said, it wasn't too popular back in it's prime so not many would have heard of it, let alone played it. And yes, it is a sexy beast, especially compared to the DS :) I think I'll repaint this beast in silver and blue or maybe even chameleon paint that changes colour in the light... I'll have to see what it looks like up close first, though.

Woohoo! I just got home and there was a lovely little package waiting for me on my doorstep. I quickly unwrapped it, put 6 AA batteries in it and turned it on. It works perfectly, and Klax is great fun! The one thing that surprised me the most was how huge this machine is. It is about a GBA and a half horizontally, a GBA and a bit vertically, and two GBAs depth-wise. This thing won't fit in your pocket no matter how big your pockets are!

Exactly how old is it? It looks very good indeed and if it is old enough, I might be able to find one in the attic. Oh and what's Klax like? It sounds fun. :)

They started making them in '89 - the same year as the original Game Boy. Klax is a really addictive game, sorta like Tetris with a 3D twist. As a matter of fact, my Mum has been playing the Lynx constantly, she can't put Klax down! The great thing about the Lynx is it is quite powerful and is available rather cheaply at eBay etc.

Do you have to sign up on eBay to buy things?

Of course. People with set accounts can be tracked and identified easily. Also, idiots (...a...) can't just make fake bids for items and run off without being punished.

Sweet. I think I'll buy one. Tetris is awesome and Klax seems even more fun than that. Unfortunatley their wasn't one in the attic. <_<
