Posted at 1:49 pm by John

Since the originally announcement of F-Zero: Falcon Densetsu from Nintendo of Japan, we’ve been waiting for an official confirmation that the game will be released in western territories. Today that announcement has finally taken place, and Nintendo of Europe has confirmed the title for release in Europe during Q2 2004. No news on an official English title yet, NoE simply referred to it as F-Zero 2.

Donkey Kong Country 2: Announced
Posted at 1:45 pm by John

In a press release today, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that Rare's classic Donkey Kong Country 2, originally released on the SNES, is currently being ported to the Game Boy Advance. The bulk of the game will remain largely unchanged, although we should expect the visuals to be brightened so that they look better on the GBA's screen. Much like the port of Donkey Kong Cuntry, Nintendo has also stated that the port will also feature the new DK Attack mode, which challenges players to rush through each level as fast as they can. The two minigames; Funky's Fishing & Candy's Dance Studio, will also be featured in the title. We have no screenshots or other information yet, but the title is currently scheduled for release in Q2 2004.

Info: Eclipse
Posted at 7:46 am by Dan

The third upcoming title from Orbital Media that's has thus been revealed is Eclipse, a science fiction action/adventure game. A bioresearch facility has been attacked, and in the aftermath a new lifeform awakens with no memories or any sense of identity. Players take control of this lifeform, Aletha, and set out to discover the mystery behind its origin. To do so Aletha will have to absorb the abilities of its enemies to evolve and survive. The gameworld is said to be absolutely huge, and will be seen from an isometric perspective. One interesting feature is how bosses will roam the gameworld and hunt you down, giving you the option to pick your fights when and where you'd like them. Aletha will have four different fighting styles to use against the game's 45 different enemy types, and there will be 16 environments to explore. Eclipse is currently set for release during the second quarter of 2004, and we'll have screenshots and more information as soon as possible.

Info: Jukka's Treasure
Posted at 7:38 am by Dan

Another upcoming title from Orbital Media is an action/adventure called Jukka's Treasure. The game throws players into a fantasy world where a magical wand that can grant wishes may have fallen into the wrong hands, and it's up to you to retrieve it. Multiple characters will be available to play as, and the game boasts over 40 different quests to reach 7 different endings. Along the way you'll interact with over 80 characters and make use of 40 tools to solve puzzles, and combining tools to create new ones will be an important factor. Thankfully there's a save feature that will let players save their quest at any moment in the game's twenty environments. Jukka's Treasure is currently set for release during the second quarter of 2004.

Screens: Racing Gears Advance
Posted at 7:27 am by Dan

New to the scene is GBA publisher and developer Orbital Media Inc, and the first game that should be released from them is a new overhead racer entitled Racing Gears Advance. The game features 25 tracks and 12 drivers with custom vehicles and skills. By winning races money is earned that can be used to repair, buy, sell and customize your car's components and an automatic save feature will maintain your career. The tracks contain many shortcuts and in order to win you'll also have to make use of the offensive and defensive power-ups that are available. There is also a four player mode available. The game is set for release soon, and we'll keep you informed as a hard shipping date becomes known.
